From February 11 to 13, Europe's leading energy trade fair, E-world energy & water, will take place at Messe Essen. During the three days, the future of the energy industry in all its facets will be discussed intensively and pioneering solutions will be presented. The Career Day on February 13 will once again be a special highlight. This day is all about promoting young talent and aims to attract young people to the energy industry at an early stage.
The rapid developments in the energy sector require specialized knowledge and skills. However, there is already a shortage of skilled workers in many places. And the problem threatens to get worse in the future. The organizers therefore see it as an important task to inspire and promote the urgently needed young talent for the energy transition at E-world. Pupils, students and young professionals will have the unique opportunity to come into direct contact with companies and their recruiters and gain valuable insights into the diverse professional fields of the energy sector.
In 2024, over 900 young professionals visited E-world to take the opportunity to exchange ideas with companies and make important contacts. The successful concept will be continued in 2025 to further intensify the exchange between young talents and the industry.
Program items of the Career Day 2025
- Educational presentations and panel discussions: Experts from the energy sector share their in-depth knowledge and discuss current developments, challenges and trends. Participants gain detailed insights into the industry and valuable information to help them with their career orientation.
- Challenges: Interactive games and challenges offered by exhibitors provide a playful introduction to various professional fields. They facilitate the dialog between companies and young professionals and make entering the energy sector tangible.
- Exchange with young professionals: The exchange with young professionals already working in the industry offers useful insights and inspiration and helps to better plan one’s own career path.
- Tips for applications from HR managers: HR professionals provide valuable advice and tips for the application process. This enables participants to optimize their application documents and prepare more specifically for job interviews.
