E world energy & water is the meeting place for decision takers in the European energy sector. At Messe Essen from February 11 to 13, 2020, information, networking and maintaining contacts will be at the very top of the agendas of the international trade visitors and exhibitors. In this respect, the supporting program which will take up topical subjects will also provide the sector with important impetus. Here, particular attention will focus on the fair-accompanying E world Congress, the Energy Industry Leadership Meeting with high-ranking speakers from politics and the economy as well as the Fiber Optic Forum with new ideas for this trendsetting business field.
As is tradition, the event will start with the Energy Industry Leadership Meeting on the day before the fair, i.e. February 10, 2020. Here, participants from the management of the energy industry as well as from industry and politics will discuss the current challenges, strategies and developments in the sector. The speakers will include, amongst others, Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister for Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, Jochen Homann, President of the Federal Network Agency, and Dr. Markus Krebber, CFO of RWE AG.
Cyber Attacks and Hydrogen are Topics at the Congress
During E world, the congress for the energy sector will take place on the first two days of the fair. There, experts will pass on their knowledge about topical subjects in 16 conferences, workshops and discussion circles. On the Tuesday, the subjects will include, amongst others, cyber attacks on energy suppliers and cooperation measures between energy supply companies. On the Wednesday, holistic solution approaches to the energy transition will be introduced at the Hydrogen Forum. In concrete terms, this will deal with the state of the art, the possibilities in the fields of sector coupling and the storage of electricity from renewable sources as well as the political framework conditions.
After the very successful premiere in 2019, the Fiber Optic Forum will be continued in 2020. In the event on the Wednesday of the fair, energy suppliers and municipal utility companies will learn how they can incorporate broadband into their portfolios as an additional successful business field.
Foreign Trade Visitors Appreciate the Fair
E world is a popular information and contact platform for trade visitors from abroad. Lively participation in the Consulates Day is once more expected in 2020. Here, the foreign delegations will gain insights into projects in the energy industry and will be able to obtain information on the subjects of hydrogen technologies and smart cities in exclusive tours of the exhibitors' booth at the fair. Moreover, they will have the possibility of appearing in forums as speakers and staging their own events at the fair. Some countries will also use the fair in order to introduce their innovations to the trade public on joint booths.
