E-world energy & water with stronger focus on climate protection

E-world energy & water is the platform of the European energy industry. After the successful event this year with more than 800 exhibitors from 25 nations, the preparations for the next trade fair are in full swing. From February 9 to 11, 2021, companies, institutions and associations will show solutions for the future of the energy industry at Messe Essen. Almost traditionally, for many exhibitors - including both industry giants and niche players - E-world is the place to be to present their energy-efficient innovations and co-operations to the trade public for the first time there.

"The energy sector will be an important driver in strengthening the European economy. Investments in renewables can be a decisive factor as part of the economic stimulus package and further to promote climate protection. The EU's Green Deal, the political planning in Germany and also several measures of the Corona package of the Federal Government are going in exactly this direction: in the strengthening of climate protection”, says E-world Managing Director Stefanie Hamm. "We have been taking this into account at our trade fair for years - especially in the constantly growing smart energy exhibition space.”

There is a great amount of interest in the 2021 event, but the circumstances are nevertheless challenging due to the corona pandemic. Sabina Großkreuz, also Managing Director of E-world energy & water GmbH: "Especially at this time, it is important to offer the industry a platform for innovations and trends. The companies would like to conjointly set the course for the future in a personal conversation. Around 60 percent of the exhibition areas have already been allocated again.“ Politicians are also taking advantage of E-world: There will be joint stands from the federal states of North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria, Berlin and Brandenburg. The Minister of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy, Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, is particularly satisfied with the fair: "E-world is a high-tech fair, a digital fair, a fair for the future. Our aim is to operate greenhouse gas largely neutral by the middle of the century. This should be safe and affordable for energy consumers. To achieve this, we need innovations - and these are being shown here at E-world. In these times, E-world is attracting a great deal of attention from politicians because it offers the solutions that we urgently need in order to make the energy transition a success.“

E-world strengthens digital presentation possibilities

Parallel to the preparation for the trade fair, E-world is further expanding its digital presentation possibilities. In this way, the leading trade fair is also setting impulses for the industry in the months without events. Thus, the E-world magazine will be published in June as a purely digital edition for the first time. The magazine will focus on the subject of "Renewables as an economic stimulus package".

There will be also a premiere for the E-world Web Sessions. They offer the opportunity to exchange views on current topics of the industry in a digital form. The start is an online lecture program on June 25th, where participants can discuss with experts about the consequences of the pandemic on the international energy industry. Speakers include Dr. Uwe Franke from the World Energy Council, Dr. Stephan Krieger from BDEW and Christian Hübner from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. The next web session on June 29th will be devoted to the topic "Power Purchase Agreements in Germany: Legal Basis, Financing, Potential". Among others, Barbara Lempp, Managing Director of EFET Germany, and Niels Driemeyer, Global Head Infrastructure Project Finance of Hamburg Commercial Bank, will share their knowledge. Participation in these online conferences is free of charge, registration is possible via the E-world website here.
