E-world Kick-off 2025 Focuses on the Transformation of the Energy Sector

With the E-world Kick-off, Europe's leading trade fair for the energy industry will once again provide a foretaste of the topics of the next on-site event this year: From November 19 to 21, 2024, experts from the industry will analyze the conflict between stability and change in the European energy sector at the digital conference. Grid stability, security of supply and financial viability are the topics of the three days of the conference, which will be addressed by high-profile speakers such as Klaus Müller, President of the German Federal Network Agency. Registration for free participation in the E-world Kick-off is possible online at https://community.e-world-essen.com/p/kick-off-2025.

E-world, the leading trade fair for the energy industry, will take place at Messe Essen from February 11 to 13, 2025. In the run-up to the event, the E-world Kick-off serves as a pulse meter for the issues currently affecting the industry. One key aspect is grid security. “Can the grid bear the energy transition?” - is the key question of the first day of the conference on November 19. In addition to Klaus Müller (Federal Network Agency, BNetzA), Dr. Thomas König (COO Networks, E.ON) and Dr. Christoph Müller (Managing Director, Amprion), among others, will give their assessments of how the increasing number of consumers, for example through heat pumps and electric cars, will affect grid stability.

The second day will focus on the European perspective: strategies for securing the energy supply in an increasingly complex global environment will be discussed. The sensible design of the German power plant strategy will be on the agenda, as will Germany's role at European level. Moderator Barbara Maria Lempp (COO, Energy Traders Europe) will be talking about these aspects with Sven Becker (Managing Director, Trianel) and Dr. Dennis Rendschmidt (Managing Director, VDMA Power Systems), among others.

On November 21, the third day of the digital conference, the speakers will address the question of how the municipal heating transition can be financed successfully. After all, billions in investment are needed to achieve the heating transition at a local level. Among others, Ingbert Liebing (Managing Director, German Association of municipal enterprises, VKU) and Tilo Hacke (Member of the Board, DKB) will share their expertise with the participants.

The E-world Kick-off will take place as a livestream in the E-world Community, E-world’s digital platform. Registration is free of charge and possible at https://community.e-world-essen.com/p/kick-off-2025. The two-hour conferences will start at 10 a.m. on November 19 and at 9:30 a.m. on the other two days. There will be simultaneous translation from German into English and vice versa.
