E-world Kick-off Analyzes Energy Perspectives

Essen, January 11, 2023

Europe's leading trade fair for the energy industry, E-world, is focusing on current and future opportunities for the industry with a high-profile online event. "E-world Kick-off: Energy Perspectives for 2023 and Beyond" is the name of the series, which will take place from February 14 to 16, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day in the digital E-world Community. Among others, Klaus Müller, President of the Bundesnetzagentur, Dr. Sopna Sury, COO RWE Generation, and Dr. James Watson, Secretary General of Eurogas, will take a position on the state of the industry. In addition to the presentations and discussions, participants will also have the opportunity to take part in networking sessions.

"We are deliberately organizing this kick-off on the traditional E-world date in February," explains E-world Managing Director Stefanie Hamm. "In this way, we shorten the waiting time until the start of the trade fair in May and at the same time offer informative added value in these challenging times for the energy industry." Her managing director colleague Sabina Großkreuz adds: "For this purpose, we have selected three topics that are particularly moving the industry at the moment, and we are pleased that we were able to win many renowned experts for this."

Three days - three different focal points at the E-world Kick-off

The E-world Kick-off starts on February 14 with the focus on "The future of energy supply: How does the conversion to a green power system succeed?". Moderator Dr. Roman Dudenhausen, CEO of con|energy AG, and his discussion partners will look back at how industry and society got through the winter and then turn their attention to the future electricity system. Among other things, they discuss how the conversion to a renewable "green" power system in Germany and Europe can succeed and how the necessary infrastructure can be created. Klaus Müller, President of the Bundesnetzagentur, has already confirmed his participation.

The second day of the event on Wednesday, February 15, will be devoted to the gas market. Among others, experts from SEFE, Thyssengas and RWE will exchange views in a panel discussion on "What does the current crisis mean for the future of the gas market or the gas phase-out?" moderated by Dr. Heiko Lohmann. The fireside chat with Dr. James Watson from Eurogas will be held in English.

Concrete solutions for the energy industry are on the agenda for Thursday, February 16. Under the overarching theme of "Data security and digital services", the focus will be on the major task of IT security for energy industry companies and how it can be mastered. In this context, digital customer service and the possibility of digital business models will also be addressed. On all three days of the event, participants will be able to network with potential business partners in speed-dating sessions.

With this agenda, the kick-off also provides a preview of E-world energy & water, which will take place at Messe Essen from May 23 to 25, 2023.
