Eliq Unlocks Investment From Volvo Cars

Eliq, a Swedish smart energy software company, announces that Volvo Cars has invested in the company, through its venture capital arm, the Volvo Cars Tech Fund.
Eliq has developed an energy data platform that helps homeowners save energy by estimating daily consumption, spotting patterns and providing personalised insights.

Following an initial incubation period, the ambition will be to make the service available to Volvo Cars customers so they can better understand their home energy usage, their energy costs and their environmental impact in an easy way.

“We are thrilled to be the first automotive manufacturer to invest in and collaborate with Eliq,” says Ann-Sofie Ekberg, CEO of Volvo Cars Tech Fund. “There has never been a greater need for smarter, more sustainable and more efficient energy systems. By combining the reach of Volvo Cars with the technological expertise within Eliq, we believe we can help our customers to better control their energy costs while empowering them to make a positive difference in the world.”

“We are delighted to have Volvo Cars as a strategic investor,” says Håkan Ludvigson, CEO of Eliq. “Volvo Cars’ commitment to innovation and sustainability aligns perfectly with our mission to empower consumers with the data and insights they need to optimise their energy use. Together, we can accelerate the transition to cleaner energy ecosystems, bringing seamless energy management to homes and vehicles alike.”

The Volvo Cars Tech Fund is dedicated to investing in innovative and sustainable technology companies that align with its vision of the future.

“Volvo Cars and Eliq share a vision of utilising energy flexibility of the home and car to create value for our customers,” says Alexander Petrofski, head of Volvo Cars Energy Solutions. Volvo Cars’ ambition is to create a home energy ecosystem that can seamlessly work with all flexible assets in the home, including electric vehicles, that will offer significant benefits to our customers and society. “This investment marks an important step on this journey.”

This collaboration highlights the growing importance of integrating energy intelligence into everyday life. Eliq’s platform, trusted by leading energy providers across Europe, empowers users with actionable insights to optimise energy use and reduce environmental impact.

Partnering with Volvo Cars enables Eliq to extend its expertise to a wider audience, delivering innovative solutions that bridge the gap between home and vehicle energy management while advancing the global energy transition.
