Over three days, E-world shows what the current topics in the international energy industry are, where the established players stand, what ideas and start-ups are stirring up the sector and what innovations and trends will mark the coming years. The trade fair also offers space for networking and making new business contacts - an essential date in every diary.
The who’s who of the industry will be present not only at the numerous expert lectures at the Congress and the specialist forums, but also at the booths of more than 750 exhibitors, who are now spread over six halls. With professionals from the industry making up 99% of visitors, the need to prepare for the trade fair is high on everyone’s to-do list. Every visitor has on average already agreed 4 appointments in advance, and will add to these spontaneously after meetings on site.
con | energy, the event organiser of E-world energy & water, offers guided tours of the trade fair for years - both for official delegations and individually organised visits.
Such an individual event in 2018 was the visit by a Swiss delegation from Swisspower, which as a strategic alliance of 22 Swiss municipalities and regional companies in the utilities industry is responsible for around 18% of power consumption and 58% of natural gas consumption in Switzerland. The delegates of swisspower attending consisted of CEOs of leading Swiss municipalities, as well as managers from industry and science. Swisspower CEO Ronny Kaufmann defined the joint key issues as sector coupling and digitisation.
Visits to various different booths were scheduled as part of the visit. The first stop was at the con | energy booth, where the industry experts of con | energy corporate consulting provided insights into current developments and exciting players, and therefore provided the delegates with sufficient background information for the forthcoming visits to the booths.
Visits were then made to the VATTENFALL (digital marketing platform V-Link), ATOS (Big Data, IoT, Virtual Reality), KIWIGRID (Smart Grid) and E.ON Drive (E-Mobility, Solarcloud) booths. The guided tour ended with a visit to the Innovation start-up area, and a joint exchange of ideas on the offerings viewed.
Swisspower CEO Ronny Kaufmann summed it up positively: “For me, the focus of interest is all aspects of the question of sector coupling, renewable transport and digitisation. I have been able to make contacts with innovative companies which could provide a stimulus for our innovation management. I found everything to be very well organised, and I’ll definitely come back again.”
Rachel Mende, a director of con | energy swiss, and the organiser of the visit by the delegation, was very satisfied, looking back on the trip: “With so many different interests and perspectives, it’s difficult to find the right mix from the wealth of interesting topics. Ultimately, with the committed support of the exhibitors taking part, we were able to put a fantastic program together - those attending were very happy indeed. For us, it was a really good, successful event.”
con |energy will be offering individual guided tours at future trade fairs also. As well as an exclusive guided tour reserved for power companies’ top management teams, guides toursfocusing on the latest hot topics are planned: “Smart Energy Services”, “Data - the new Gold!” and “Digital Customer Communication”. Please contact us if you are interested in attending, or would like to make a contribution to these topics as exhibitors.
