For the first time an open expert forum on Trading and Finance was held at E-world energy & water 2018. In over 30 presentations, international industry experts discussed current challenges in energy trading and financing.
As an ideal add-on to the Trading Floor Service & Supply, the Trading & Finance Forum offered a varied and up-to-date program over three days. Speakers from throughout the world and an international audience of specialists exchanged ideas on topics such as making the electricity market more flexible, emissions trading and digitisation concepts. In addition, questions around “Blockchain in the energy industry” attracted great interest - from opportunities and risks through possible applications to contractual concepts.
This year’s topic focus “Smart City” was included in the diverse program of the forum. As well as trends and developments for the future, the aspect of financing Smart Cities was examined using case studies and innovative business models. The cooperation partners for the Trading & Finance Forum were the Association of German Energy Traders e.V. (EFET) and the European Energy Exchange (EEX).
