E-world 2025: Four Forums Offer an Innovative Program on the Energy Transition

Valuable knowledge and engaging insights right within the exhibition halls: this is the benefit E-world visitors receive through the expert forums. From February 11 to 13, four presentation stages at Europe’s leading energy industry trade fair will invite attendees to share experiences and network. The stages are freely accessible, and all presentations are open to trade visitors with their fair tickets. Each day and forum will focus on a focus topic examined from various perspectives. The detailed program is now available at https://community.e-world-essen.com/p/program-2025.

The daily changing focus topics at the four forums reflect current debates and developments in the energy industry, from renewable energy in Europe to grid expansion and the security of critical infrastructure. This thematic structure helps navigate through E-world’s extensive program, making it easier to plan the visit. All key topics and related program items can be viewed in the E-world Community, the digital platform for the trade fair. The program is accessible without registration at the Community. Registered users of the platform can also create personal favorites lists and schedules for their visit.

The Topic Variety of the Forums

New Energy Systems Forum

Located in Hall 1, this forum focuses on the transformation of European energy systems. The first day, themed “Renewables in Europe”, addresses the global offshore market and the secure, climate-friendly energy supply in Germany. A highlight is the discussion “The German Power Plant Strategy: How Can the European Energy Sector Prepare?” on February 11 at 2:30 pm, moderated by Barbara Lempp, COO of Energy Traders Europe. Day two will explore “New Energy Grids,” covering topics such as grid infrastructure expansion, modernization, and the use of artificial intelligence in energy supply. The focus topic “New Energy Markets” runs through the third day, discussing sustainability ratings for investment decisions and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

Change Forum

Addressing “Economic Change” (February 11) and “Security for Critical Infrastructure” (February 12), this forum in Hall 4 will examine the economic and security-related challenges of the energy transition. On the first day, discussions will cover the future of Germany as an industrial hub and the intersection of industrial and energy policy. The second day will focus on implementing the new EU NIS2 directive and its implications for energy security. Strategies to enhance cyber resilience and hardware security will also be discussed.

Future Forum

How can cities be made future-proof and climate-friendly through intelligent infrastructure and sustainable technologies? How is the heating market changing? These questions will be addressed in the Future Forum through 16 presentations and discussions. The “Future Cities” (February 11) and “Future Heating” (February 12) topics will cover integrated energy concepts, tenant electricity, and the use of artificial intelligence to optimize energy consumption. On the second day, particular focus will be given to customer communication, with experts analyzing how best to involve the public in transformation processes.

Hydrogen Solutions Forum

The Hydrogen Solutions Forum will present innovative strategies and solutions for the use of hydrogen and other climate technologies. The first day, titled “Climate Solutions”, will focus on power purchase agreements (PPAs) in hydrogen production, H2 cogeneration, and storage solutions. The second day, centered on “European Gas Markets”, will look at LNG integration, sourcing strategies, and transport routes for green hydrogen in the European gas market. On February 12 at 11 am, a discussion will address the question, “LNG: Are We Heading into a New Gas Crisis?” On Thursday, the focus will shift to “Energy Transition in the Making”, discussing future developments in the hydrogen market and the benefits of hydrogen for energy-intensive industries.

E-world Career Day: Insights for Young Talents
On February 13, the E-world Career Day will be in the spotlight. At the Change and the Future Forum, young professionals will gain valuable insights into the energy sector. In addition to inspiring talks, panel discussions, and sessions like “CEO meets Student,” the Career Day will provide a wealth of knowledge on topics such as conducting job interviews and the use of AI in the workplace.
