Lecture Program at E-world energy & water Concentrates on Challenges in the Energy Sector

The key topics of E-world energy & water 2020 have been stipulated. A comprehensive lecture program will deal with the following subjects: smart city, climate solutions and energy transition, grids and infrastructure as well as innovations in the sector. Moreover, as the meeting place of the European energy industry, E-world always focuses on the international exchange of ideas and on the promotion of cross-border cooperation measures. The call for papers has started and speakers can still submit applications to the E-world website until the end of August.

The energy sector will meet up at E-world energy & water at Messe Essen from February 11 to 13, 2020. Not only at the E-world Congress but also at the open forums in the fair halls, experts will pass on their knowledge to an international trade public. The headline subjects of the diverse lecture program have already been stipulated. The orientation of the main focal points highlights E-world's commitment to making an active contribution to organizing the sustainable transformation of the energy industry and to its promotion.

How Can the Energy Transition be Organized in the Best Possible Way?

Climate protection is defining the debate in society like never before. Therefore, subjects relating to everything to do with climate solutions and new aspects of the energy transition will play central roles at E-world in 2020, too. Sector coupling, energy efficiency solutions and innovative storage units have the potential to come closer to decarbonization and thus to the climate objectives as well.

Smart city continues to be an important subject field. This covers progressive applications in holistic consideration such as district solutions in cities or innovations for rural areas. This subject block also includes challenges of e-mobility, e.g. charging infrastructure and charging processes, the wireless technology for the networked city (long-range wide-area network – LoRaWan) as the basis for the Internet of things and micro grids as nearly autonomous energy grids.

The third main subject area will concentrate on grids and grid infrastructure. It will relate to decentralization, the effects of micro grids on supply security as well as broadband expansion as the enabler for future technologies and new business models. Furthermore, grid security is an important aspect - particularly in the field of smart grids. Here, the utilization of artificial intelligence for controlling and defending smart grids is a promising option.

Discussing and Mastering Global Challenges Together

As the sector's meeting place for startups, the newest developments and trends are always presented at E-world. In addition to the Innovation topic area in Hall 4, the lecture program will also offer a platform to startups and to providers of new products and services. The objectives will be to discuss topical questions and innovative solutions to them and to identify new business fields.

E-world will congregate decision makers from the European energy industry in Essen in order to develop global solutions for complying with the Paris Climate Treaty. The international exchange of ideas will be characterized by subjects such as the future of the European electricity market and guaranteeing supply security. Numerous English-language lectures will give the international trade public important food for thought.

Submission of Applications for Lectures Possible Until the End of August

Still until August 31, 2019, experts from the energy industry can submit applications to be speakers for the lecture program at E-world. No matter whether an individual speaker, a company or an association - any interested parties are being invited to submit their concepts to the E-world website at e-world-essen.com/en/program/call-for-papers. Lectures, podium discussions, workshops and ideas for their own partner events are possible.
