New date for Europe's leading trade fair for the energy industry
Europe's leading trade fair for the energy industry will be postponed. E-world energy & water will now take place at Messe Essen from May 4 to 6, 2021 and not, as originally planned, in February. From the point of view of the organizers and leading industry representatives, the alternative date could hardly be more ideal as it is scheduled for the warm season and also fits in well with the industry's program of events. The trade fair will focus on solutions for a sustainable future.
Sufficient lead time, more planning security: With the decision for the one-off changeover of E-world to May, Messe Essen and con|energy as organizers are providing the industry with the necessary clarity. Associations and companies in the energy industry welcome the postponement of the fair date. Stefanie Hamm, Managing Director of E-world, comments: "We have been in close contact with our exhibitors from the very beginning and are receiving a great deal of support. From numerous discussions we know that the industry would like to get together again and is very much looking forward to E-world 2021. We are therefore very pleased that our partners and exhibitors are reacting so positively to the new trade fair date.”
Frank Arens, Head of Public Relations, RWE AG confirms: "E-world is an important trade fair for the RWE Group. This is where we meet customers, establish or strengthen contacts with other companies and partners and present our range of services. The direct and personal exchange is particularly valuable for us and hard to replace. We therefore fully support the postponement of E-world and look forward to the industry meeting in May.”
Kerstin Andreae, Chairwoman of the BDEW Management Board, agrees: "E-world is one of the top events in the energy industry alongside the BDEW Congress. Corona is a great challenge for all of us, and next year we will still have to continue to plan with the pandemic and carry out events with particular care. The postponement of the date is therefore absolutely understandable. Despite all the difficulties, I am looking forward to E-world 2021.”
Christian Wülfing, responsible at Uniper for the company's presence at E-world, adds: "Uniper welcomes the relocation of E-world to May 4-6, 2021. Thus, there is still a chance that this important meeting place for the energy industry will be able to take place next year with direct customer contact and the personal exchange that is so important. For Uniper, E-world is a great annual platform for dialogue with our partners and guests on energy evolution, the decarbonization of the energy world and many other issues of the energy future.”
"Knowing the new date, we can all now fully concentrate on preparing the trade fair in terms of content and, not least, on looking forward to it", says Sabina Großkreuz, also E-world Managing Director.

Comprehensive concept ensures safety for all trade fair participants
Preparations for E-world 2021 are already in full swing. The organizers have developed a comprehensive hygiene concept to ensure that exhibitors and visitors can safely take part in the fair in times of pandemics. In this connection, Messe Essen will make use of its comprehensive infection protection measures that have already proven effective at events in recent months. Among those measures count digital ticketing, a state-of-the-art ventilation system with 100 percent fresh air supply and a generous amount of space in order to be able to comply with the known distance rules.
