Smart Energy exhibition area at E-world grows

In the last three years, the number of exhibitors in the "Smart Energy" area at E-world energy & water has more than doubled. In 2017, over 150 companies exhibited their services, products and technologies in this area alone. The omens for 2018 are also good: From February 6 to 8, a large number of companies from the industry, the telecommunications and IT sectors as well as political associations and protagonists will once again present sustainable, efficient and intelligent solutions relating to all aspects of energy generation and storage, power transmission as well as consumption control in Halls 6 and 7. Further subjects will be the effective networking and control of power generators, storage systems as well as the digitisation of the metrology and sustainable solutions for intelligent cities.

The exhibitors in the Smart Energy Theme World will include the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, the German Energy Agency (dena), Robert Bosch, the Credit Institute for Reconstruction (KfW) banking group and Telefonica Germany. The companies giving their premieres at the fair this year will include the IT service providers Mettenmeier and CONET, FUJITSU TDS GMBH or Sharp Electronics GmbH.

Digitisation Permits New Cooperation Measures and Business Fields and Ideas

"The companies who will be exhibitors in the Smart Energy area will come, amongst other areas, from information technology, the electronics sector and telecommunications. Thus, you will be able to see how the energy industry is opening up possibilities for new cooperation measures and business fields and ideas in the wake of efficiency enhancement and increasingly process-oriented organisation," according to Stefanie Hamm, Managing Director of E-world energy & water.

As a platform and source of impetus for innovative products and services in the energy industry, E-world will portray the challenges of the growth market of smart energy taking account of the entire value added chain - parallel to the fields of generation, efficiency, trading, transport, storage and green technologies. With the subject focus called "Smart City", one of the future fields in the growth market of the sector will also be extended in 2018.

Smart Tech and Energy Transition Specialist Forums

The Smart Energy Theme World will be accompanied by two open specialist forums:

The Smart Tech Forum will concentrate on intelligent solutions as well as on technical questions relating to all aspects of IT security, digital platforms and intelligent networks. The current status of the SINTEG (Smart Energy Showcase) projects of VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH will be introduced, too. The other partners of the forum will include the Association of Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE), the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI), the BITKOM digital association as well as Business France.

The Energy Transition Forum will address the subject of the current challenges and developments of the energy transition - amongst others, energy efficiency, sector coupling and stores. Moreover, attention will focus on the main subject area of smart cities: This will primarily relate to solutions for intelligent buildings and pioneering mobility. The programme is being organised together with the Association of Energy Market Innovators, the German Renewable Energy Federation, the SmartNetEnergy Network and StoREgio Energy Storage Systems.
