DESCRIPTION:More than half of the world's population already lives in cities, and by 2050 this figure will be around 85% in industrialized countries. These urban centers thus already play a decisive role in the development and realization of new ideas in areas such as energy efficiency or sector coupling. For the implementation of all these projects, energy networks as basic infrastructure as well as decision-making processes in cities are particularly important.
This workshop brings together the experiences of cities and utilities from across Europe with smart and flexible grids. Get inspired for projects in your municipality, learn from the experiences of others and take away starting points for implementation. The event will give you an insight into BABLE's advanced training "Smart and flexible grids in the context of the connected and smart city" as well as exemplary into the development of the roadmap for scaling innovative climate neutral technologies of the city of Leipzig. The roadmap was developped in cooperation with the European Investment Bank.
