In addition, the topic area “Smart Energy” is devoted to intelligent, efficient and renewable solutions. The topic area “Innovation” places its emphasis on the future of the energy industry: Start-ups und research institutes present their new and innovative products and solutions.

Smart City & Climate Solutions

In times of advancing urbanization, cities are becoming pioneers in developing innovative ideas and measures to protect the climate. Being major contributors to climate change, cities are also especially affected by its consequences. Digitization and smart city concepts have the potential to make urban areas more efficient and sustainable. The key challenge will be the integration of electricity and heat, smart buildings and e-mobility into an intelligent and resource efficient system. As a driver of innovative and renewable technologies, the energy industry plays a key role in this process.


Newly founded companies set new impulses with innovative business models in many areas of the energy industry. The topic area Innovation offers you the chance to meet company founders and start-ups as well as research institutes  and university graduates. In addition to the exhibition, the speed dating is an excellent opportunity for networking. The customer solutions forum provides a platform for industry experts to discuss new business models, concepts and ideas for the future of energy. The Innovation area is located in hall 5.

Smart Energy

The importance of smart and efficient products, solutions and technologies is exemplified by the Smart Energy area. These topics are strongly gaining relevance within the energy industry: Over the past three years, the number of exhibiting companies has more than doubled. Important topics of this exhibition area include the effective networking and control of electricity producers, storage systems and consumers as well as IT security and energy efficiency. In addition to the exhibiting companies from the energy industry, industry and IT sector, political associations and players also present themselves. The infrastructure forum including high-quality lectures and panel discussions completes the Smart Energy area.

Energy trade and energy services have always been important areas within the scope of E-world. Accordingly, these topics are of great interest for many exhibitors and visitors. More than 70% of the exhibiting companies deal with these topics. The joint booth “Trading Floor” unites providers of services such as trading and forecasting software. It is complemented by the Trading Forum, which offers a varied program including fascinating presentations and panel discussions on all three days of the trade fair. Career Forum

The Career Forum brings students and graduates together with energy companies and universities which offer interesting and relevant postgraduate programs. It takes place on the third day of the fair and supports targeted and professional exchange between businesses, graduates and young professionals. Students can have talks with human resources manager of the industry and get all their questions concerning applications, starting work and career opportunities answered. The ideal positioning of the Career Forum within the exhibition area guarantees the recruiting event the attention of participants and visitors.

Press Lounge

Visitors find the publications of a variety of publishers and media there. Its atmosphere makes the lounge an ideal place to take a break between appointments, read an interesting magazine or meet other visitors.
